We were happy to welcome Kate Templeton to the Exchange Club of Richmond Hill at our Wednesday, October 9th meeting at Richmond Hill City Center. Kate is an Outreach Coordinator at Tharros Place in Savannah. Tharros Place provides support and shelter for survivors of human trafficking by providing residential services for girls between the ages of 12–17.

Human trafficking, which is defined as the exploitation of another person for sex, labor, or services, is a worldwide threat. In the United States, there are 1.5 million human trafficking victims, most of whom are children. Savannah is no exception, especially given its high poverty rate, international port, booming tourism industry, and the crossroads of Highway 95 and I‑16.

Tharros Place is a local nonprofit. You can learn more about them here: https://www.tharrosplace.com/
